Robyn’s Career:

Robyn began teaching in Special Schools in 1979; six years later, she opened a pilot Integration Program and ran that for 2 years at Glenmore Primary School, North Rockhampton.

Later she worked as an Advisory Visiting Teacher with integrating students with Intellectual Impairments into mainstream classrooms.

She has also worked as a Primary classroom teacher, taught some Middle School classes, and has 14 years of experience as a Learning Support Teacher for both students with impairments and learning difficulties. She also worked with gifted and talented primary students on a weekly basis for 10 years.

During that time she organised “Primary Challenge Days” which involved multi-age grouping an entire Primary School Department and organised 2 days of activities with the teachers running specific aspects of the curriculum around a themed topic using Howard Gardiner’s Mulitple Intelligence Theory. Students loved these days and learned so much about themselves and each other.

Since April 2009, Robyn has run her own private Clinic full time (CQ Irlen & Dyslexia Clinic) where she specialises in diagnosing Irlen™ Syndrome (Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome) and dyslexia. (See the Products and Services page for more information.)

Robyn is also a qualified Cellfield Clinician. This is a neurologically based Treatment Program for people with dyslexia and reading difficulties.

She began running the Cellfield Treatment Program with individuals in 2009. She is excited about the amazing results Cellfield bring with ‘rewiring’ the brain for reading. Her background, combined with her extensive study of the brain in relation to education and learning has meant she is well qualified to lead workshops, seminars and conferences with adults and students alike.

Robyn brings the very latest from research about learning into your workplace. The information presented significantly enhances and challenges the way people think about learning, working and living. The practical applications of these sessions, on a professional and personal basis, will astound you.

Robyn’s passion for learning and educating makes the presentations and workshops applicable to today’s classrooms. Participants will come away with new ideas, clarified thinking, new challenges and a range of strategies to enhance their work, bring greater satisfaction to themselves and to their students. She has presented workshops to school staff; students; at conferences and to other community groups (parents, volunteer groups, and church groups who work with children and teenagers).
